Designed in the 1970’s as a super sonic bomber to replace the venerable B-52 the B-1A was cancelled late in the development process. Revived in the 1980’s the B-1A became an operational test bed for the development of the new sub-sonic B-1B.

The new Minicraft 1/144 scale airplane represents the “test bed” aircraft used during the development and testing of the B-1B program. The kit features new markings representing the B-1A in an experimental “desert camouflage” scheme.
